Barbecue Coloring Pages

One of my favorite parts of ribs is the glistening, sticky barbecue sauce. I like to use warm browns, reds, and oranges to capture that sweet, tangy flavor. Don’t be shy with the sauce – drip it on thick! I’ll outline the ribs in black first, then color big splotches of sauce across them.

For an extra smoky flavor, I’ll add some char or grill marks too. A few strokes of black crayon can make them pop off the page. Feel free to get messy and layer colors to really bring the sauce to life.

Ribs Coloring Pages

Underneath that finger-lickin’ sauce, the ribs themselves are so fun to illustrate. I like to use pinks and tans for the meat, with little streaks of white fat throughout. The rib bones are great for practicing shapes – draw a bunch of elongated Cs in a row.

To make the ribs look extra juicy and tender, I’ll blend my colors softly along the edges. Short, ragged strokes of brown and pink capture the shredded edges perfectly. Don’t forget to add a glisten or two with glitter, white, or metallic crayons!
